The spokesperson for Jordan Water Company "Miyahna", Ibrahim Qbeilat, confirmed that the company has not yet been able to determine the reason for the change in water quality in the Shmeisani area of Amman, noting that identifying the cause requires weeks of precise testing.
Qbeilat explained that technical teams from the company have installed monitoring points in the area to ensure accurate water testing, noting that the procedures include conducting laboratory and field tests, with the aim of identifying the real reason behind the change in water quality, according to the kingdom.
Qbeilat clarified that the company has worked to enhance water services in Shmeisani by contracting with a contractor who owns 60 tankers to supply the area with water, in addition to another 25 tankers from the company's fleet, indicating that the volume of water distributed in the area amounts to about 4 cubic meters, to meet the needs of the residents in the area.
Regarding the impact of the change in water quality on the residents, Qbeilat confirmed that the company has not recorded any cases of damage to residents in the Shmeisani area so far. He mentioned that water pumping to the area has been stopped as a precautionary and preventive measure, to fully control the situation and investigate the causes.
