Khaberni - In a shocking incident that shook the state of Pennsylvania, the American authorities discovered more than 100 human skulls along with long bones, petrified feet, and decomposing bodies inside the house of a young man named Jonathan Gerlash, who is 34 years old.
The suspect, Jonathan Gerlash, was arrested while leaving the historic Mount Moriah Cemetery, which stretches from Philadelphia to Yeadon, after police surveillance following reports from a nonprofit organization concerned with preserving the cemetery, which noticed the desecration of graves.
A search of the house revealed a scene reminiscent of horror movies in the basement, where the bodies and bones were found, in addition to eight additional sets in his personal storage. The prosecution acknowledged charging him with hundreds of offenses, including theft, receiving stolen property, mishandling corpses, destroying public property, breaking and entering, and desecrating sacred objects. He also confessed to stealing about 30 groups from the cemetery.
The Delaware County District Attorney’s office, through attorney Tanner Rose, said that investigations continue to determine the identities of the victims and the source and exact number of bones, noting that some of the remains date back hundreds of years, and include newborn children as well as a corpse with a pacemaker. He clarified that the period between November 7th and his arrest witnessed the raid or destruction of 26 graves and cemeteries, most of which are over 100 years old.
The suspect, Jonathan Gerlash, is being held on a million-dollar bail while authorities continue to investigate the sources of the rest of the remains.
