FIFA and TikTok Shake Up World Cup 2026 Broadcasting

Khaberni  - FIFA announced on Thursday the signing of a partnership with TikTok platform, ahead of the 2026 World Cup finals in America, Mexico, and Canada this summer.

FIFA stated in a release on its official website that TikTok, a preferred platform for mobile video content, will provide special coverage of the World Cup, featuring a significant increase in original content and becoming the favored destination for fans throughout the tournament.

"Under this partnership that will extend until the end of this year, it is planned to feature live streaming of parts of the tournament matches and post selected clips," he added.

Matias Grafstrom, FIFA's General Secretary, said: "The aim of this partnership is to highlight the joy embodied in the World Cup, and perhaps making TikTok the foremost preferred platform for the tournament will serve as the best way to enhance this during the biggest sporting event in history."

"This innovative and creative cooperation will strengthen the ties between fans across the globe and the World Cup more than ever before, apart from enabling audiences to get a behind-the-scenes look and bringing them closer to the event more than ever before," he added.

James Stafford, Head of Global Content at TikTok, said: "Football has seen tremendous growth worldwide on the TikTok platform over the past few years, and we are excited for fans to enjoy the World Cup experience even beyond the ninety minutes through exclusive content and unparalleled access to what content creators produce."
