The deal will not be hindered Barcelona reassures Girona about Ter Stegens injury

Khaberni - Press reports revealed developments in the negotiations of the Spanish club Girona to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the goalkeeper of fellow club Barcelona.

Ter Stegen's name has been linked with the possibility of moving to Girona, Barcelona's neighbor in the Catalonia region, during the January transfer window.

This comes after the German goalkeeper became distant from the calculations of his fellow countryman Hansi Flick, the coach of Barcelona, as he became the third choice.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper was injured during a training session with the Catalan team on Tuesday, before facing Athletic Bilbao, which Barcelona won by five goals on Wednesday evening in the semi-finals of the Spanish Supercup.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" clarified that the injury Ter Stegen suffered in his knee is not serious, and will not prevent his transfer on loan, if he agrees to join Girona.

According to the report, Deco, the sports director of Barcelona, confirmed that Ter Stegen's injury is not serious, which gave Girona the opportunity to continue their plans regarding an attempt to sign him on loan.

The newspaper pointed out that Girona officials are very interested in the Ter Stegen deal, and have made that clear to Barcelona, who immediately agreed to the deal since they see their goalkeeper position is well secured with the presence of Juan Garcia and Szczesny.

Barcelona club realizes that Girona team can only pay a small part of Ter Stegen's salary for the second half of the season, but is willing to negotiate if this is the desire of the German goalkeeper.
