Khaberni - Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello stated yesterday evening, Wednesday, that approximately 100 people were killed and as many injured, in the American operation in Caracas that took place over the weekend, targeting the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro.
Cabello described the operation as a "horrific attack" and said that the number of victims might increase.
He added that some of the deceased were civilians, including women who were asleep in their homes at the time.
The Venezuelan authorities had previously announced the deaths of 24 soldiers in the operation.
Cuba also confirmed the deaths of 32 of its security personnel present in Venezuela, some of whom were working as personal bodyguards for Maduro.
Some of the Venezuelan soldiers were buried on Wednesday, with military honors in Caracas, where photos showed coffins draped with the national flag.
The US government has not released official figures for the casualties, while American media have quoted informed officials estimating 75 people were killed during the operation.
