Khaberni - On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several Israeli ministers launched a scathing attack on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, against the backdrop of his country's announcement of preparing an indictment against 35 Israelis - including Netanyahu - suspected of targeting the Global Steadfastness Fleet while it was heading to break the siege on Gaza.
Netanyahu - through his account on the X platform - accused Erdogan of supporting the regime in Iran and slaughtering the Kurds, adding "Under my leadership, Israel will continue to fight the terrorist regime of Iran and its agents, unlike Erdogan, who tolerates them, and has killed his Kurdish citizens".
Turkey responds: Netanyahu is this era's Hitler
In response, the Turkish Foreign Ministry described statements by Israeli officials against Erdogan as "improper, arrogant, and false", adding that they resulted from "their annoyance at the truths we express at every forum".
The Foreign Ministry - in a statement - described Netanyahu as "well known who he is, and his record", also dubbing him as "Hitler of the era due to his crimes", stating that he is being tried in the International Criminal Court on charges of committing war crimes and genocide, and mentioned an issued arrest warrant.
The ministry stated that Netanyahu's goal is to undermine ongoing peace talks, and to continue his expansionist policies in the region, adding, "or else he will be tried in his country and could be sentenced to prison", confirming - in its concluding statement - that Turkey will continue its efforts to hold Netanyahu "accountable for the crimes he committed".
