Hebrew Reports Washington Granted Israel the Green Light to Attack Lebanon

Khaberni  - The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported on Wednesday evening that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed his government ministers that U.S. President Donald Trump has given Israel the "green light" for an attack on Lebanon due to Hezbollah's refusal to surrender their arms.

The broadcast authority clarified that Netanyahu assured his ministers that Israel has acquired Washington's support for military action against Lebanon if Hezbollah continues to refuse to disarm.

The American side has not commented on the Israeli statements reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

Israeli Attacks

In the same context, the Israeli army bombed a bulldozer in southern Lebanon today, Wednesday, and also blew up a residential building, in a new breach of the cease-fire reached in November 2024.

This escalation coincided with intense low-altitude Israeli drone flights over the capital Beirut and its southern suburbs.

According to the Lebanese News Agency, an Israeli army drone targeted a bulldozer in the vicinity of Abu Al-Labin neighborhood in the town of Aita al-Shaab in the district of Bint Jbeil.

The agency added that the Israeli forces have detonated a 3-story building in Bab Al-Thaniya area west of the town of Al-Khiyam, without specifying the method of explosion.

At the same time, Israeli warplanes carried out low and medium altitude flights over several southern Lebanese villages, reaching the city of Sidon, with intensive flights of drones in the skies of Nabatiyeh.

Comprehensive Military Plan

The Broadcasting Authority reported late December that the Israeli army had developed a comprehensive military plan to strike Hezbollah targets should the Lebanese government and army fail to implement the decision to disarm the party.

At the time, the authority cited a high-level security source stating that the United States had been informed that Israel would not hesitate to take action against Hezbollah, even if it required launching a full-scale war, which threatens to reignite fighting on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

In August, the Lebanese government approved a plan that includes confining arms to the state, including Hezbollah's weapons, which was welcomed by the Lebanese army in September of the same year.

In contrast, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, categorically rejected the disarmament of the party, stating that such a decision would weaken Lebanon against Israeli threats, and called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territories occupied.

Israeli media outlets have recently reported statements about the readiness of the Israeli army to complete the attack plans on Hezbollah locations, should the Lebanese government continue to fail in fulfilling its commitments to disarm the party.

Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024 by conducting almost daily raids on Lebanese territories. It also continues to occupy 5 Lebanese hills in southern Lebanon that were seized during the recent war, in addition to other areas in southern Lebanon.
