Khaberni - Ivory Coast’s national team completed the lineup of teams qualifying to the quarterfinals of the African Nations Cup 2025 in Morocco, after defeating the Burkina Faso team with a clean triple.
At the Grand Marrakech Stadium on a cold night, the "Elephants" team achieved their goal and overcame the "Stallions," breaking the champion’s exit curse from the round of 16 of the continental tournament.
In a match that does not allow for sharing, the Ivory Coast team entered in full force, eyeing the victory and the continuation of their title defense journey.
The 20th minute saw Ivory Coast taking the lead with a goal scored by the shining Amad Diallo, the Manchester United star.
Given that possession was dominantly Ivorian and the pressure was high on the Burkina Faso goalkeeper, the defense of the Stallions made a blunder, which was exploited by Yann Leonardo in the 32nd minute, reinforcing Ivory Coast’s lead.
The second half was just a "rehearsal" or a training session for the Elephants, who maintained ball possession effortlessly.
In the 83rd minute, Bazoumana Toure added a third to the Ivory Coast’s tally.
With this win, the Ivory Coast team set a date with the Egyptian team led by its foremost star Mohamed Salah in the quarterfinals of the African Nations Cup, in an early final that will definitely be promising and exciting.
