Khaberni - The Secretary-General for Primary Health Care and Epidemics at the Ministry of Health, Riyad Al-Sheyyab, said on Tuesday that 100 comprehensive health centers have been selected in various provinces of the kingdom to monitor the health status of Jordanian pilgrims and issue the necessary health certificates for them.
During a press conference held at the Islamic Cultural Center - Martyr King Founder Mosque for announcing this year's Hajj arrangements, Al-Sheyyab added that these centers are equipped with specialist doctors who evaluate the health condition of the pilgrims, and ensure their health suitability to perform the Hajj pilgrimage according to the required health standards.
He noted that the pilgrims will undergo clinical examination and laboratory tests at the accredited health centers to ensure their ability to perform the Hajj rituals.
Al-Sheyyab explained that cancer patients are not generally prevented from performing the Hajj pilgrimage; however, in advanced cases involving immune system weakness, it becomes difficult for these patients to undertake the pilgrimage.

The Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, announced during the conference that Jordan's quota for pilgrims amounts to 8,000 pilgrims, in addition to 4,500 pilgrims from the 48 Arabs.
Al-Khalaileh emphasized that no Hajj visa will be granted to those suffering from failure of major organs, neurological and psychiatric diseases that impair perception, senility accompanied by dementia, pregnancy in the last two months, active cancer patients, and infectious diseases.
He highlighted that adherence to health standards is mandatory, urging those who meet these standards to visit the accredited health centers to obtain the required health certificate, confirming that the Hajj permit will not be issued before presenting the required health certificate.
According to the instructions of the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Affairs, health capability is applied, where a visa is granted to those suffering from failure in major organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys, severe neurological and psychiatric disabilities, senility accompanied by dementia, pregnancy in the last two months, high-risk pregnancy at all stages, active cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, biological or radiation treatment, and infectious diseases that impact public health (such as open tuberculosis and hemorrhagic fevers).
