Report Bin Salman Pushes for Turkeys Entry into Gaza

Khaberni - I24NEWS reported that the expected meeting next week between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and American President Donald Trump might change the power dynamics surrounding the future of the Gaza Strip, and grant Turkey a significant advantage.

It is no secret that Turkey seeks to establish its presence in the Gaza Strip, but Israel has so far stood in its way. According to sources cited by I24NEWS, Ankara hopes that Trump, increasingly frustrated with the stagnation of the peace plan, will pressure Israel to agree to a Turkish military presence in Gaza, under the pretext of a peacekeeping force.

The channel added, "It was also reported that a Saudi source stated that Riyadh blames Israel for the deadlock and believes that the Turkish presence alone can keep Hamas under control."

According to the channel, "Hamas will not attack Turkish forces." Assessments indicate that Trump might pressure Israel to agree to a "nominal demobilization": where Hamas would change its military attire, and Turks would act as a "peacekeeping force," boosting Ankara's status as a hero in the Islamic world."

The channel said, "Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates, which distanced itself from Trump's plan earlier this week, is watching the developments with concern. According to the report, an Emirati source said this is a problematic course, warning that Turkey or Qatar cannot be trusted regarding Gaza."

It added that there is a deep rift between the Emirati and Saudi approaches: while Abu Dhabi seeks a real solution that prevents a return to unending cycles of war, Riyadh primarily cares about quiet and American gestures.

The source also pointed to a deep divide within Saudi Arabia itself: the older generation, which venerates the Palestinian cause, repeatedly clashes with Bin Salman's ambition to accelerate modernization and swiftly shift towards a new agenda. Ultimately, regional sources confirm that much is at stake in the anticipated meeting, as its outcomes could affect not only the future of the Gaza Strip but also the power balance in the entire Middle East.

The newspaper Maariv reported that regional mediators, led by Turkey and Qatar, are exerting significant pressure to involve Ankara in an international force to stabilize the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper noted that Israel is taking a cautious approach: not outright rejecting the proposal, but initially willing to consider it, provided political conditions are clearly set for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to political sources, the Israeli formula allows only limited flexibility. Lifting the veto right on Turkey will only be possible if there is a tangible change from the Turkish side, including a public clarification or correction of statements hostile to Israel, along with a clear declaration of a change in relations with it. It will soon become clear whether this Israeli compromise is acceptable, not only from the perspective of American President Donald Trump but also from that of Ankara.
