Khaberni - The Nasiriyah area in Algeria was shaken by a tragedy, which is the discovery of 5 deceased children with their father inside their home, while initial investigations indicated the possibility of the father's involvement.
The incident occurred two days ago in the village of Boumeraw, part of the Nasiriyah commune in Boumerdès province (50 kilometers east of the capital, Algiers).
The victims (the father and 5 children) were found by security services, while the mother was on a family visit.
"Spirit of salt"
Initial investigations revealed that the father may have killed his children, then committed suicide by consuming a drink "spirit of salt,"
Meanwhile, the mother suffered a psychological shock upon hearing the news, which prompted her transfer to the hospital.
A resident of the neighborhood told Alarabiya.net/Alhadath.net that he heard screaming at his neighbors’ house and rushed over, to find the man and his children deceased (3 daughters and 2 sons) while the gas bottle was left open.
He said: "We do not know the real reasons.. We left everything as it was until the arrival of the security services and civil defense."
Meanwhile, one of the neighbors also confirmed that "the father used to work with him, and he was kind." However, he added that the father "had some problems at work, but not to the extent that he would commit something like this." He continued: "On the contrary, he was a patient person."
The five children and their father were buried yesterday, Monday, in the As'aleethen cemetery in the village of Boumeraw, belonging to the Nasiriyah commune in Boumerdäs province, amidst an atmosphere of sadness and grief that pervaded the residents of the area due to the tragedy.
