Author: غيث القرالة

The meeting of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, with the youth of Aqaba Governorate served to reaffirm that the youth in Jordan are a fundamental axis in the national vision for modernization and development and that direct engagement with them is no longer an exception but a fixed approach in public work.
The meeting, held at Ayla Oasis, carried clear political, economic, and social implications, particularly highlighting Aqaba
as a pivotal economic and tourist city, receiving special attention in recovery and growth plans especially after the impacts imposed by global events on the tourism sector. The Crown Prince expressed his hope for a better tourist movement this year in a message reflecting the leadership's belief in the local economy's ability to rise again and the importance of this resurgence reflecting on job opportunities available to the youth.

In his discussion on electronic development, the Crown Prince placed the digital transformation within its natural context as one of the requirements of a modern state, emphasizing that electronic services are no longer an optional choice but a necessity affecting the daily lives of citizens. This proposal aligns with the aspirations of Jordanian youth, who form the backbone of the knowledge economy, and affirms that empowering them technologically is an investment in the future that cannot be postponed.

Regarding environmental issues, the Crown Prince reiterated the importance of reducing random waste disposal, especially in tourist cities, stressing the need for citizens to feel a tangible improvement in the coming period. This proposal reflects an awareness that the quality of life and a clean environment are essential elements in sustainable development, and that maintaining the civilized image of the cities is a shared responsibility between the state and society.

What is notable in this meeting is that the youth were not just recipients of messages but partners in the dialogue. They expressed their appreciation for the Crown Prince's continuous support for them and his efforts in empowering them and enhancing their participation in various fields, which reflects a state of mutual trust and indicates a positive shift in the relationship between the youth and state institutions.

In summary, the Aqaba meeting confirms that supporting youth in Jordan has moved beyond rhetorical speech to a policy translated through dialogue, monitoring, and linking development with real opportunities—a approach that enhances stability and opens the field for a generation capable of actively participating in building the future of the nation with confidence and responsibility.
