In a nation where the word is safeguarded freedom is a covenant not to be taken lightly
الكاتب: د. محمد علي المعايطة

We are not peoples who fear writing,
but peoples who have learned that a word has weight… and that freedom has a ceiling protecting it from chaos.
In a time when events accelerate and narratives intertwine, the word is no longer an intellectual luxury, but has become an effective action that reshapes awareness, and may leave an impact on the stability of society or its shaking. The word is no longer merely an expression, but a responsibility; because it is not measured by what we mean to say, but by what it leaves in the minds of others.
Therefore, when a word is released without awareness or depth, or is loaded with unhealthy intentions, it might not immediately cause noise, but silently plants an effect that accumulates over time, eventually appearing as gaps in trust, tensions in the social fabric, or disparate readings that confuse the meaning and weaken belonging.
Here precisely, the difference becomes clear between a freedom that creates awareness, and a freedom that may unleash the uncontrollable.
In Jordan, the word is not suppressed,
nor left to turn into a tool of destruction,
but is embraced within a precise equation:
responsible freedom… does not harm the nation,
nor ignite strife, nor feed racism.
This balance is not a detail, but the essence of stability. And it is what we are proud that our Hashemite leadership has established, making the word a space of awareness, not an arena of chaos, and from freedom a moral obligation, not merely an absolute right.
Nations are not only defeated by weapons… but are defeated when their word becomes corrupted.
When the word loses its precision, or is used out of context, or is pushed towards causing division, it quietly transforms from a tool of construction to a cause of internal confusion. The results are not seen immediately, but gradually sneak in, weakening trust, and opening the way for interpretations that may not serve the unity of the community.
We are children of simple environments, bedouin and farmer, from various origins and backgrounds,
but we unite under one word: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
A nation not built by chance, but formed from genuine diversity, and an indivisible belonging.

And as the great poet Said Aql said:

Jordan, land of determination, a song of the huba * The swords grew and the edge of the sword did not degrade
In the size of some roses, except that * For you, a thorn returned to the East its morning

These are not just poetic verses, but an accurate description of a small nation in its size, great in its presence, firm in its stance. And this firmness would not have been achieved if not for the awareness of the word and its limits.
Here, the word is not a luxury, but a responsibility.
You write… because you belong,
you criticize… because you care,
and you stay silent… when silence is wisdom.
Freedom is not about saying everything you want, but about saying what befits a nation that deserves it.

In an era where the word surpasses its geographical boundaries, and is interpreted in more than one way, precision in expression becomes a necessity, and balance in presentation a commitment. The word may build without us feeling it, and may confuse without us intending it.

In the end, the most important truth remains:
A word can either build a nation and unify it,
or scatter it and weaken it.

Therefore, the word was, and will remain, the strongest weapon throughout history
