Khaberni - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun's speech in Bkerke, with his decisive tone, was not a victory for one Lebanese party against another; rather, I mean the side of the attack launched by the "National Meeting" conference in Maarab; despite the Lebanese President not specifying the target; his words were undoubtedly directed at Hezbollah, but this direction was not as much confrontational as it was targeted at specific individuals who do not understand the difficulty of the president's task, which he chose to execute from a religious platform; we believe: he was not successful in it; not because it was Christian - as everyone knows the respect this religious institution commands among Lebanese and others, added to which we agree with others on the message of nobility and tolerance that this institution advocates; but handling a matter of this size and sensitivity should have been handled from the presidency platform which overshadows - from above - everything beneath it.
The president estimated that a religious platform aligned with the overt attack on Hezbollah would provide high precision and speed in controlling the situation, especially since the "National Meeting" remained unbalanced due to the absence of Christian and Shiite components and others, despite the gathering of a significant number of Lebanese community components. The president wanted this tactic to absorb anger everywhere and draw everyone's attention to the fact that what he sees differs from what they see without being able to clarify further.
This presidential vision was evident in the signals from the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, who praised the statements in a manner that reflects his awareness of the sensitivity of dealing with the "National Meeting" demands for international forces to disarm Hezbollah, and an attempt to legitimize foreign intervention under an Arab cover according to the conference outcomes, which was busy accusing "regardless of their correctness" its opponent and ignored what the events conceal, overlooking the pitfalls of the internal explosion that Israel tries to arrange, which President Aoun is aware of, especially after the repercussions of the decision to expel the Iranian ambassador, where its consequences were not far from the insightful eyes of the president; when his government ascended to its platform of authority in this decision, it became a weapon in the hand of the party's opponent, which also seized state authority and dealt with the decision in the same contexts it accuses Hezbollah of dealing with the state.
Some of President Aoun's concerns may have appeared in the Ain Saadeh issue, although the targeted person was a leader in Hezbollah, the killing of a leader in the Lebanese Forces party; though seen by Geagea as fate only, Israel's accounts may have considered igniting such an anger in its attempts to stir the interior, which until now it tries and fails, especially with the frequent talk by the Israeli army about the accuracy of its targeting and the superiority of its intelligence information, these attempts which find their broader field nowadays under the condition of overthrowing the army commander on the pretext of not cooperating in the matter of disarming Hezbollah to stop Israel's attacks, the structure which shares with Aoun justified fears: enjoys his absolute support, in a form that forms a protective wall against the interior seeking to push troubles into the Lebanese arena by implementing government decisions before facing the exterior.
This awareness of the president increased the pressure he endured after the recent truce, which did not stop Israel’s operations against Lebanon; rather, yesterday it launched the biggest and most horrific attack; the flags were lowered, this increased pressure was due to the awareness that Israel singled out Lebanon after focusing on it in exchange for stopping the Iranian front, and the fire of internal discord found fuel in Trump's declaration that Hezbollah was the reason Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire, in contrast, there is awareness that Iran will not let Israel eat its strength in a manner of arm nipping; and this was clearly evident in the threats from the Revolutionary Guard around Israel’s continued targeting of Hezbollah
If we want to give advice, then we say: Instead of calling for a special court as some want, and instead of relying on others, and leaning on Arab interventions as a former Minister of Foreign Affairs stated, the Lebanese President should intervene to work on preventing any political party from demanding the reduction or trimming of another party's claws, the president and those collaborating with him in this mission should control the voices of all those calling for hostility from one team to another, even if these voices are in a form of a widely popular color; in this mission, it is necessary to assign the Prime Minister moral ethical commitments at least - difficult to be legal political by nature of the structure - mandated by the machine of necessity and its state, and jumping over all trenches of dispute; even through a general national discourse, and although I do not favor speeches; still, I start with the simplest of solutions, leaving others to other venues.
