Khaberni - Chinese researchers from Hunan Agricultural University and Southern University have shown that a diet containing a moderate amount of fats reduces the accumulation of fats and inflammation in adipose tissue.
The scientists refuted traditional notions about the harm of animal fats, pointing out that consuming fat within the recommended proportion (25% of the dietary energy value) improves metabolism by regulating the balance of adipose tissue.
Despite recommendations to replace animal fats with vegetable fats, Chinese experts faced a paradox as obesity cases continued to rise. Chinese nutrition experts recommend consuming only 25-30 grams of vegetable oil daily and avoiding fatty foods of animal origin.
Meanwhile, the researchers confirmed that the traditional diet rich in meat and animal fats, including pork lard, is associated with a lower prevalence of obesity and diabetes compared to a vegetarian diet. The scientists conducted experiments on mice.
The experiment lasted 24 weeks, during which the mice received 25% of their calories from fats. It was found that lard reduces the accumulation of fats more than vegetable oils due to an increase in tauricolic acid levels, which improves fat absorption and reduces inflammatory processes.
It was also observed that lard is rich in beneficial fatty acids that increase the body's sensitivity to insulin and help control blood sugar levels. However, no one has negated the harm of excessive fat consumption, as shown by a study on mice published in August last year by Vietnamese scientists.
