Two people injured in London shooting and main road closed during investigation

Khaberni - Two men were taken to the hospital after a shooting incident in the Bexleyheath area of London, prompting police to close the main road and start an urgent investigation.

The British police continue their investigations after a shooting incident in the Southeast London area of Bexleyheath, which resulted in two people being hospitalized and a main road in the area being closed.

Emergency services received a report of a shooting on Broadway in Bexleyheath shortly after 2 AM on Sunday. Police forces immediately went to the scene along with London Ambulance Service teams.

The police stated that paramedics provided first aid to a 30-year-old man wounded by a gunshot before he was taken to the hospital for treatment, noting that they are still waiting for an official update on his health condition.

Another 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, and he was also taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained.

Teams from the London Air Ambulance participated in dealing with the incident, where injured individuals were treated on site before being transported, while the police imposed a security cordon around the area and blocked traffic there.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said they received a report at 2:15 AM on Sunday, January 4th, about a shooting on Broadway in Bexleyheath, confirming that investigations are ongoing.

The statement added that anyone with information that may assist the police in their investigations is requested to call the number 101, citing report number CAD 630/04Jan.

Broadway in Bexleyheath is a vital center that witnesses heavy pedestrian traffic, especially with the presence of the Broadway Shopping Center, which annually attracts between 8 and 9 million visitors.

Due to the incident, several roads in the area were closed, and most public transport bus routes were diverted.

According to the website "News Shopper", one of the injured was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound, while another person received treatment for a head injury before being transported to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated that teams received the report at 2:10 AM, and ambulances, paramedics, rapid response vehicles, and a specialist trauma team from the London Air Ambulance were dispatched.

The spokesperson confirmed that two individuals were treated on the scene and subsequently transported to the hospital, while the police renewed their call for any witnesses or those who have relevant information to contact the relevant authorities.
