Khaberni - The family of the «Umbrellas» driver has finished the burial procedures after the autopsy of the body, and demands not to circulate the incident on social media out of respect for their feelings.
Fadi Safwat, brother of Adel Safwat, known in the media as "the Umbrellas driver," who ended his life by hanging atop the Umbrellas bridge in Shubra El-Kheima area, Qalyubia Governorate, in Egypt, said that the family has finished the burial procedures after the decision was made to transfer the body to Zeinhom morgue for autopsy, to establish the true causes of death.
The deceased's brother explained in statements to local media sources that the family completed the burial rites after finishing the necessary legal and medical procedures, confirming that the decision for the autopsy was made to accurately determine the causes of death.
He added that he appeals to everyone to close the file of the incident and not to circulate it again on social media, out of consideration for the feelings of his family, demanding the deletion of the photos circulated of his brother on social platforms.
The security agencies in the Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances of a post supported by photos and a video clip that was circulated on social media, showing the body of a person hanging from a bridge in Cairo.
Upon examination, it was found that on April 8th, a driver working with one of the smart transport applications, using a car owned by his brother, ended his life from atop a bridge within the jurisdiction of Al-Sahel Police Station in Cairo.
Upon questioning his brother, he stated that the deceased lived alone, had been suffering from psychological disorders since 2010, following the death of their parents, and had been regularly visiting a psychiatric hospital for treatment, noting that the deterioration of his mental state was the reason he committed suicide.
The necessary legal procedures regarding the incident were taken, while the Public Prosecution took over the investigation.
