Khaberni - It seems that the slogan "Take a Break" was misunderstood when a group of thieves stole nearly half a million pieces of Kit Kat chocolate, in an incident deserving of the title "tastiest heist of the century".
While the world was occupied with political conflicts, wars, and economic crises, a giant truck was on its way from Italy to Poland but vanished under mysterious circumstances, and half a million pieces of Kit Kat chocolates simply disappeared into thin air.
In this story, we are not dealing with criminals in the traditional sense, but rather "thieves, yet charming" who decided to commit the strangest theft, leaving the giant company and its audience in a state of shock.
The New York Times published statements from the company announcing that nearly 12 tons of Kit Kat chocolate bars designated for Formula 1 races were stolen while passing through Europe.
The truck, whose fate is still unknown, was carrying 413,793 units of "the new chocolate collection" from Kit Kat, according to a company statement.
The journey started in central Italy and was supposed to end in Poland, with an expected distance of between 776 to 838 miles.
The company confirmed that no one was hurt in the chocolate theft from Kit Kat, which occurred somewhere between the production site and distribution locations, and was limited to one single shipment of one type.
"We have always encouraged people to take a break with Kit Kat, but it seems the thieves took the message literally and stole more than 12 tons of our chocolate", the company expressed its dismay at the incident, adding: "While we appreciate the criminals' refined taste, the fact remains that cargo theft is a growing problem facing companies of all sizes".
The thieves face a problem with the "batch code", which threatens to reveal their identities if anyone attempts to scan the code, after they committed this bizarre theft before the joyous season of the continent associated with Easter.
It appears that Europe's thieves have a weakness for chocolate, as before this incident, the UK was shaken in 2023 by the "Easter Bunny Criminal" who stole 200,000 chocolate eggs and ultimately ended up in jail before tasting a single egg, while the thieves of the 12 tons of Kit Kat are still enjoying the longest "break" in history.
