Khaberni - The President of Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majali, honored the three winning teams in the World Universities English Language Olympiad 2025, during a ceremonial event held at the university. The event was attended by the Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Tareq Al-Qurum, the Deans of the Faculties, academic and administrative staff, as well as students and their family, in a festive atmosphere reflecting the pride in the students' achievements and excellence.
This honor was in recognition of the winning teams' excellence and their innovative and research work, which reflected advanced levels of innovation, teamwork, and adherence to academic and linguistic standards. During the ceremony, the achievements of the winning teams were showcased, with the first-place team in the project category presenting an introductory showcase of their project titled Decoding the Forehand: A Machine Learning Case Study of Youth Table Tennis Players Using the Xsens Motion Capture Suit, which involved the use of 3D motion capture technologies and machine learning in sports performance analysis to enhance training quality, reduce technical errors, and minimize injuries, along with displaying a video documenting the project’s different phases.
The team included students: Rahaf Arafat from the College of Nursing, Alia Mahmoud from the College of Engineering and Technology, Saja Al-Maaytah from the College of Arts, Zaid Al-Omari, and Mohammed Al-Fadhil from the College of Architecture and Design, under the supervision of Dr. Rola Abu Al-Rub. The project received wide acclaim due to the meticulous planning, scientific research, and professional execution required for the project category.
Moreover, the team that won first place in the teamwork category was also honored, under the supervision of Dr. Layla Barqawi, and included students: Joud Al-Jazazi and Celine Sarhan from the College of Pharmacy, Zaid Hussein and Nermin Abu Rasees from the College of Nursing, and Hossam Hafni from the College of Science and Information Technology, in recognition of their cooperation, harmony, and exemplary project execution, community service initiative, and theatrical presentation.
Similarly, the third team that won the Best Creative Idea Award for their outstanding theatrical presentation was also honored, under the supervision of teacher Hana Jaradat, including students: Zaid Awadallah, Zeina al-Zubi, Sama Nayel, Darin Alsous, and Amal Ammar, where the honor came as recognition for the excellence of the idea, depth of the message, and creative presentation style.
During the ceremony, the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majali, expressed his pride and esteem for this achievement, confirming that this honoring aligns with the university's vision to support innovation and scientific research, and encourage active participation of students in international forums, contributing to their personality development and building their academic and professional capabilities.
In turn, the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Musa Al-Zughul praised the advanced level presented by the students, affirming that this honor reflects their ability to effectively employ the English language in scientific research and global communication, while appreciating the role of academic supervision and the integration between colleges.
