Khaberni - Irbid Municipality has announced the cessation of all contractors working on the city streets and prohibited them from conducting any new digging operations until they rectify the situation and address all dig sites, granting them a one-week deadline to finish the work.
The head of the municipal committee, Imad Al-Azam, stated that he has circulated a stop on issuing dig permits in all forms, noting that he held a meeting with excavation contractors and companies executing electricity, sewage, and water projects, and asked them to develop a comprehensive plan to address all faults, and restore the city streets to their previous condition, in accordance with the municipality's approved specifications and conditions within the set timeframe.
Al-Azam confirmed that the municipality will hold these companies fully accountable for all damages that occurred in recent days due to the excavations.
He added that he requested Yarmouk Water Company to conduct urgent maintenance work on some manholes that caused a number of issues during the low-pressure weather period.
He also noted that he had circulated to the municipal supervision team the importance of addressing all citizen complaints that have come to the emergency room during the low-pressure period, and to resolve them immediately and without delay.
