Khaberni - The Iraqi Ministry of Justice announced a Jordanian court decision that orders the recovery of a financial amount of 1,706,255 for the Republic of Iraq, from one of the fugitives who fled to Jordan after being convicted of damaging state funds and abusing his official position.
The ministry stated that this decision is the result of persistent legal follow-up by the Directorate of Foreign Litigation Management at the Ministry of Justice, through the management of the case presented before the Amman Court of First Instance in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The goal was to enforce the judgment issued by the Iraqi courts and grant it an executive format based on recognized legal frameworks, by furnishing the case lawyer with documents and evidence that strengthened Iraq's legal stance and proved its right to reclaim the amount.
According to the statement, the Amman Court of First Instance issued its final decision to enforce the judgments from the Baghdad Al-Karkh First Instance Court, granting the decision absolute authority, paving the way for initiating execution procedures on the seized movable and immovable properties in preparation for their return to Iraq according to the effective Jordanian laws.
