Khaberni - The "Shield of the Nation" forces started a military operation today, Friday, in Hadramout province, as part of a plan aimed at taking over the camps from the forces of the Southern Transitional Council, amidst rapid field developments and Saudi air strikes targeting the 37th Brigade camp in Al-Khasha area.
Local sources stated that a large force from the "Shield of the Nation" left the Al-Abra border area towards Al-Khasha and Seiyun, while the Governor of Hadramout, Salem Al-Khanbashi, confirmed that the forces face ambushes and attacks during their movement to take over the camps, emphasizing that the operation aims to peacefully and orderly take over the military sites, without targeting any political or social components.
On his part, the President of the Southern Transitional Council in Hadramout Valley and Desert, Muhammad Abdul Malik Al-Zubaidi, said that clashes erupted between their forces and what he described as "invading forces coming from the north", mentioning the arrival of reinforcements from Marib to Hadramout in preparation for the attack.
In a related development, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, revealed that the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi, refused yesterday to grant a landing permit for a Saudi plane carrying an official delegation at Aden airport, adding that Al-Zoubaidi issued instructions to close the airport to aviation traffic, adding a political dimension to the escalation of the situation in the south.
