Samsung Holds Galaxy S26 Prices Despite Pressure

Khaberni - Samsung has settled the ongoing debate over the pricing of its forthcoming flagship phones, with reports indicating that the company will keep the prices of its main devices for 2026 unchanged, compared to the 2025 generation.

According to the report, the Galaxy S26 series along with Galaxy Fold 8 and Galaxy Flip 8, will maintain their current pricing, in a move aimed at protecting Samsung's market share against fierce competition from "Apple" and Chinese companies.

Price stability for the fourth consecutive year
Despite previous reports about Samsung's intention to raise Galaxy S26 prices due to rising component costs and a fall in the value of the Korean currency, the company decided to freeze prices for the fourth consecutive year, according to a report published by "phonearena".

Thus, the price of the Galaxy S26 will start at $799, while the S26 Plus will stay at $999, and the S26 Ultra at $1,299.

Leaks suggest that Samsung deliberately made this decision to avoid losing users to competitors, especially in the context of a saturated flagship phone market and unprecedented price rises.

The company is expected to unveil the new series on February 25 in the United States, with availability in markets starting early March, according to leaker Ice Universe.

Foldable phones exempt from price increases
The decision to fix prices is not limited to the S series only but also includes the foldable phones.

According to the report, the Galaxy Fold 8 will continue to be priced starting at $1,999, while the Galaxy Flip 8 will be sold at $1,099.

Despite this freeze, Samsung does not intend to sacrifice revenue growth.

The report indicates that the company plans to raise the prices of some Galaxy A series phones, which are the backbone of its volume sales, which could help compensate for weaker profit margins in the flagship categories.

Smart decision
This decision comes at a time when leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 will not feature radical changes in design, with limited improvements in the processor and wider expansion in artificial intelligence features.

In this scenario, price fixation seems logical, especially since users may not be willing to pay more for minor updates.

However, questions remain about the Galaxy S26's ability to draw attention even at its current prices, amid a state of confusion and postponement surrounding Samsung's plans for this generation.
