Apples Smart Pin Everything You Want to Know About the Upcoming AI Device

Khaberni - Apple is working on developing a wearable artificial intelligence device, described as a pin or pendant, and the company is currently conducting trials on the device.

If the development process goes well, this smart device could be launched in the market as soon as possible in 2027.

Numerous leaks and forecasts for this artificial intelligence device have spread, and below is all the information available about this smart device, according to a report by the technology news site "MacRumors".

Design
It is said that the pin is about the size of Apple's "AirTag" item tracker, and comes in the form of a thin, round disc.

The device is featured with an aluminum and glass casing, and there is a physical control button on one of its edges. It seems that Apple wants the final version of the device to be about the same size as the "AirTag", but with internal components it will be slightly thicker.

Apple will allow users to attach the device to clothing or a bag using a clip, or wear it as a necklace through a hole at the top.

The artificial intelligence device can be charged wirelessly like Apple Watch.

Camera
Apple plans to add a camera to the artificial intelligence pin, but the available information about the functions of this camera is conflicting.

Bloomberg reported that the pin will contain a low-resolution camera that provides it with information about its surroundings, rather than a camera for taking pictures and videos. The camera will be active and will always be recording, but users will not be able to use it to take pictures.

On the other hand, "The Information" reported that it will contain two front-facing cameras, one with a normal lens and the other with a wide-angle lens for taking pictures and videos.

The Apple smart device will heavily rely on "visual intelligence" technology, which is currently available in iPhone devices, and uses the camera to provide users with additional information about the surrounding places and objects.

The smart pin will also contain at least one microphone for speaking to the voice assistant "Siri" and picking up sounds around the user, but Apple has not yet decided whether it will add a speaker for Siri conversations and playing sound.

"Siri" and iPhone
The artificial intelligence pin will operate with an updated version of "Siri," which Apple plans to reveal in iOS 27. Apple is developing a chatbot for Siri to compete with Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT.

"Siri" will be powered by a version of Gemini’s artificial intelligence thanks to Apple's partnership with Google. iOS 27 is expected to include all the intelligence features promised in iOS 18, plus more.

The smart pin will contain a custom chip, but it will be similar to the H2 chip in AirPods. The chip will not be high performance, and most processing operations will be performed on an iPhone device.

Apple does not design the artificial intelligence pin to be a standalone device, but it will be marketed as an accessory to the iPhone. Bloomberg reported that some Apple employees see it as "eyes and ears" for the iPhone.

The development of the artificial intelligence pin is still in its early stages, and it may be cancelled. If Apple moves forward with its plans to launch the pin, it is likely to be launched as soon as possible in 2027.

Competition
OpenAI is also working on developing an artificial intelligence device in collaboration with Jony Ive, the former designer at Apple, and the device will be powered by "ChatGPT," and is expected to launch in 2027.

Other wearable artificial intelligence devices like the "Humane AI Pin" priced at $700 have failed, but the difference between this device and Apple's smart pin is that the "Humane" pin was developed as a standalone device, not as an accessory for an existing product like the iPhone.
