The General Authority for Tourism Promotion Approves the 2026 Action Plan and Budget and its Marketing Strategy

Khaberni - The General Authority for Tourism Promotion in Jordan ratified yesterday, during its regular annual meeting, the authority's action plan and budget for the year 2026, as well as the adoption of the marketing plan for the same year.

According to a press release issued by the authority today, the meeting was chaired by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Dr. Imad Hijazin, with the attendance of the General Manager of the Tourism Promotion Authority, Ramzi Maaytah, and several board members and representatives of the private tourism sector.

During the meeting, the marketing plan for the authority for the year 2026 and the budget proposal were discussed, where the main objectives and pillars of the plan were reviewed, in line with the strategic directions of the Tourism Promotion Authority, enhancing spending efficiency, and supporting promotional programs aimed at increasing tourist numbers, diversifying target markets, and maximizing the economic impact of the tourism sector.

The authority confirmed that the 2026 action plan is aligned with the vision of economic modernization, by enhancing the role of the tourism sector as a main driver of economic growth, creating job opportunities, increasing the contribution of tourism to the Gross Domestic Product, and supporting value chains linked to the sector, thereby contributing to the achievement of the vision's goals related to sustainability, competitiveness, and stimulating tourism investment.

The authority explained that the action plan focused on increasing the tourist's average stay and spending, reducing tourism seasonality, in addition to enhancing awareness of the Jordanian tourism product, expanding the scope of digital marketing, and active participation in international tourism exhibitions.

Additionally, the plan includes promoting the participation of the national football team in the World Cup finals, in coordination with various partners, and leveraging this global event to enhance Jordan's tourism presence, alongside successfully managing the tourism event seasons in the kingdom, supporting low-cost and charter aviation, and enhancing the return on investment through a performance matrix that directly contributes to attracting tourists and increasing Jordan's competitiveness as a global tourism destination.
