Khaberni - The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its regret about the actions taken by the sister state of the United Arab Emirates, which exerted pressure on the forces of the Southern Transitional Council, pushing their forces to conduct military operations on the southern borders of the Kingdom in the provinces of Hadramaut and Al Mahrah, which pose a threat to the national security of the Kingdom, and to the security and stability in Yemen and the region. It further states that the actions of the UAE are extremely dangerous and are not in line with the foundations that the coalition for supporting the legitimacy in Yemen was founded upon, nor do they serve its efforts in achieving Yemen's security and stability.
The Kingdom emphasizes the importance of the UAE's response to the request of the Yemeni Republic to withdraw its military forces from Yemeni territory within 24 hours, and to stop any military or financial support to any party within Yemen.
In this context, the Kingdom hopes that wisdom will prevail, prioritizing principles of brotherhood and good neighborliness, and the close relationships that bind the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and the interest of the brotherly Yemen, and that the United Arab Emirates will take the hoped-for steps to preserve the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, which the Kingdom is keen to enhance, and mutually work towards everything that will enhance the prosperity and stability of the region's countries.
The statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs today following the statement from the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and the statement issued by the leadership of the Arab Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen regarding movements of ships loaded with weapons and heavy vehicles from the port of Fujairah to the port of Mukalla without obtaining official permits from the joint forces command of the coalition, confirms in this context that any infringement or threat to its national security is a red line that the Kingdom will not hesitate to address by taking all necessary steps and measures to confront and neutralize it.
In the same context, Riyadh emphasizes its commitment to the security, stability, and sovereignty of Yemen, its full support for the president of the Presidential Leadership Council and his government, and reiterates in this context that the southern issue is a just cause, with its historical, social dimensions, and that the sole way to address it is through dialogue at a comprehensive political solution table in Yemen, in which all Yemeni factions will participate, including the Southern Transitional Council.
