Iran discusses conditions in Yemen with Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Khaberni - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed in two phone calls with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Emirati Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the developments in the situation in Yemen.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Araghchi discussed bilateral relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia with his Saudi counterpart and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.

It added that during the call, the Iranian Foreign Minister touched on developments in South Yemen, stressing the necessity of preserving Yemen’s unity and integrity, and the need to implement the roadmap.

Araghchi also condemned what he described as the Zionist entity's aggression on Lebanon, emphasizing the responsibility of the international community, especially the guarantors of the ceasefire, in stopping the assaults and crimes against the Lebanese people.

On his side, the Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of continuing consensus and cooperation among the countries of the region to maintain peace and stability, insisting on the need to hold the Zionist entity accountable.

In a separate phone call, Araghchi discussed bilateral relations with the Emirati Foreign Minister and confirmed that the solution to the Yemeni crisis lies in national dialogue.

The sources added that the Iranian-Emirati call also covered regional developments of mutual interest.

At the beginning of this December, forces of the Southern Transitional Council swept through the provinces of Hadramaut and Al Mahrah in eastern Yemen, expelling the last units of the Yemeni army, and targeted forces of the Hadramaut tribal alliance supported by Saudi Arabia amidst an escalating crisis and fears of an explosion of the situation in the two provinces.
