Khaberni - The Director of Roads at the Greater Amman Municipality, Suleiman Al-Shamari, said on Monday that the heavy rainfall caused water to accumulate in some streets of South Amman, especially in the areas of Al-Muqabaleen, Khreibet Al-Souq, Marj Al-Hamam, and Wadi Al-Seer.
He added that these areas have unbuilt lands, where the speed of wind and heavy rains contributed to the sweeping of dirt and stones, leading to delays in water drainage, according to Al-Mamlaka.
He noted that the municipality's teams are spread across all locations, working on addressing the received reports, and confirmed that the drainage network in these areas is efficiently functioning.
