Khaberni – Wajdi Salem Al-Assaf, the principal of Rakeen Secondary School, sent a message to the Municipality of Karak complaining about the municipality's continuous neglect of the village residents' complaints regarding the paving of the street leading to the village homes.
The text of the message is as follows:
To the respected Mayor of Karak,
We, the residents of Rakeen village – Mahrous neighborhood, are raising this letter to you with the utmost dissatisfaction and anger due to the continuous neglect in addressing the situation of the road leading to our homes, which has been nearly destroyed by the recent rains.
We assure you that the site had previously been assessed by municipal engineers, who confirmed the need for paving and tarmacking, along with the construction of gabions. However, despite the long time that has passed since this assessment, no actual action has been taken, leading to the exacerbation of the problem to a very dangerous stage.
Today, the road is completely impassable, and the water pipes leading to the homes have become exposed, posing a direct danger to the safety of the citizens, especially children and the elderly, and hindering employees from going to their jobs and students to their schools.
I assure you that as the principal of Rakeen Secondary School, I am unable to reach my workplace due to the poor condition of the road. This negatively reflects on the educational process and directly affects the students and educational staff, which is an unacceptable situation that cannot continue.
The continuation of this situation reflects a clear negligence in dealing with a problem that was previously warned about, and we hold the relevant authorities fully responsible for any damages, accidents, or disruption of public facilities that may arise from this neglect.
Therefore, we demand immediate and urgent action without any delay to radically address the road, and to handle this report with the seriousness imposed by the severity of the situation, before things worsen.
Please accept my highest respect.
Name: Wajdi Salem Midadallah Al-Assaf
Principal of Rakeen Secondary School
On behalf of the residents of Rakeen village – Mahrous neighborhood
