Khaberni - Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Al-Saud, confirmed on Wednesday that the water sector is primarily concerned with serving citizens, saying: "The entire ministry staff and those working in the sector are servants to the citizens, and serving the citizen is not a disgrace."
Abu Al-Saud added, in a video clip during his talk with the Secretaries-General, directors of companies, water directors, technicians, water distributors, and all employees in all regions of the Kingdom, via a visual communication platform, that the citizens' reviews of the water sector are sharp due to the importance of this sector.
He explained that the citizen may endure interruptions in electricity or bread, but they cannot tolerate water interruptions, requiring us to understand the citizens and deal with their complaints, noting that water complaints are on the rise, describing this as a negative issue.
"I follow the complaint ratios daily, which indicates a flaw in the level of service provided (dealing with citizens' complaints), confirming the appointment of the internal control team to follow up on these issues.", according to Abu Al-Saud.
Abu Al-Saud emphasized that any employee who does not comply with dealing with citizens or does not provide the service as required will be held accountable, adding that those who serve the citizen will get what they deserve.
He called for working realistically and practically, pointing to the presence of "the mystery shopper", and noting that his reports showed that the Ministry of Water received the weakest scores in terms of cleanliness.
He affirmed that the quality of service provided to the citizens contributes to reducing losses, especially in terms of pipe breaks, stressing the need for their immediate follow-up and necessary actions.
Abu Al-Saud said that services must be available, and that the main goal is to serve the citizen.
