Khaberni - The Institute of Public Administration has continued, since the beginning of the current year and within the framework of its national role in supporting the implementation of the public sector modernization roadmap, to implement a comprehensive package of training programs and initiatives that targeted more than 24,000 employees across 845 training programs, from various government entities and in all regions of the kingdom, aiming to enhance institutional performance efficiency and to establish a culture of innovation and governance, and to enhance the readiness of the public sector.
Within the framework of the national efforts to modernize the public sector, the Government Leadership Center at the Institute of Public Administration has continued its role in preparing and qualifying government leaders and building their capacities at various levels, enabling them to lead change and enhance institutional performance efficiency.
In collaboration with the General Service and Administration Authority, the institute launched the "Executive Future Leadership Track (Altqaa)," which includes the "Advanced Government Leadership Program" with 19 participants, and the "Public Sector Women's Leadership Qualification Program", which had 48 participants, funded by the Italian project to support public administration reform in Jordan.
The programs were launched on October 16th last year and targeted mid-management employees with distinguished performance and leadership potential, with the aim of preparing them to compete for top leadership positions, supporting the selection and succession management system based on merit, transparency, and governance criteria.
The institute also launched the "Professional Diploma in Public Policies and Administration" with 47 employees from 28 government agencies, spanning over 500 training hours, aimed at qualifying government staff capable of formulating, implementing, and evaluating public policies, proposing solutions to challenges linked to the public sector modernization, based on the methodology of joint governmental work.
This diploma was part of the public administration reform project in Jordan, funded by Italian cooperation, and in partnership with the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), the German Jordanian University, and the unit for managing and implementing the public sector modernization roadmap at the Prime Minister's office.
Meanwhile, the Training and Capacity Building Directorate played a pivotal role in developing human capabilities and enhancing performance efficiency in the public sector through implementing specialized training programs that respond to the needs of government institutions and contribute to improving the quality of services.
These programs include the "New Employee Orientation Program," offered as self-learning through the e-training platform for newly appointed employees, alongside training programs designed based on training needs identified from government departments, and managed and executed nominations through the electronic training system.
In the context of enhancing professional professionalism and applying global standards in the public sector, the Institute of Public Administration implemented a series of international certification programs in human resource management, based on the memorandum of understanding signed with the American Human Resource Management Association (SHRM), one of the global entities specialized in this field.
These efforts included implementing two training programs aimed at human resource managers and department heads to obtain the "Advanced Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management (ACHRM)," with the participation of 47 participants representing 47 government departments, contributing to improving human resource management efficiency according to international best practices.
As part of its efforts to develop administrative capabilities and apply global best practices in project management, the Institute of Public Administration implemented five training programs in "Professional Project Management (PMP)," accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), with the participation of 713 employees from various government departments.
The institute also began implementing programs on "Agile Project Management" based on modern methodologies approved by PMI, where the first program saw the participation of 17 participants, enhancing the efficiency of project management staff using modern and flexible methods.
In the context of its efforts to develop institutional performance and enhance capabilities in the public sector, the Institute of Public Administration implemented a series of qualitative programs targeting various levels of employees and leaderships, including the "Organizational Impact Assessment Program," which enables policy makers to analyze the best options and make strategic decisions, with the participation of 557 employees in 24 training courses.
Additionally, the institute implemented the "Control and Internal Audit Unit Evaluation Standards Program," aiming to enhance internal audit efficiency and promote governance and risk management, with the participation of 544 employees across 19 programs in various regions.
The institute has worked on implementing the "Program to Enhance Capabilities of Frontline Workers" as part of the strategic plan 2023–2025, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and the unit for managing and implementing the public sector modernization program, supported by the German Agency (GIZ), where 337 training courses were conducted in multiple governorates including Irbid, Madaba, Tafilah, Ma'an, and Aqaba, aiming to enhance the efficiency of employees in delivering public services and enhancing the experience of beneficiaries.
