Jordan Water warns of Mujib Dam flooding as rains continue

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation - Jordan Valley Authority expects the Mujib Dam to reach its full storage capacity of 25 million cubic meters and to overflow towards the Mujib Valley in the coming hours with the continuing rainy condition affecting several areas of the kingdom, especially the southern regions, which has contributed to replenishing the water reserves, particularly filling the dams of Wadi Al-Karak - Al-Karak and Sheidam Dam - Tafilah.
The Ministry, in a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) today, Sunday,
urges everyone to avoid streambeds and valleys, not to approach dams and dirt excavations, and to adhere to the instructions issued by official authorities, to preserve public safety.
