Khaberni - On Sunday, April 5, 2026, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Muhafaza, announced that the Scholarships Directorate will nominate (4500) four thousand five hundred new students to receive loans from the University Student Support Fund in the department, as a replacement for students who have declined these loans. The official period determined for completing the required procedures and documentation for students nominated for internal grants and loans for the current academic year, 2025-2026, ended last Tuesday. Minister Muhafaza added that the ministry will distribute these available loans to districts that were not completely covered with grants and loans to all applying students. It is expected that during this week, the ministry will announce the names of students who will receive these loans, and text messages will be sent to their mobile numbers stored in their applications.
It is worth noting that including this additional number in the loans will raise the total number of students nominated to receive internal grants and loans for the current academic year 2025-2026 from (60341) to (64841), and the percentage of students receiving internal grants and loans will increase from (78)% to (84)% of the total number of students who applied and met the eligibility conditions.
