A new service at a Saudi port connects it with 3 Gulf countries

Khaberni - The Saudi Ports Authority "Mawani," announced yesterday, Wednesday, the addition of the new maritime shipping service "JEBEL ALI MIDDLE EAST EXPRESS" from "CMA CGM" to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, in a move aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the kingdom's ports and supporting the fluidity of global trade movement and raising operational efficiency.

The new service contributes to connecting King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait, and Khalifa bin Salman Port in Bahrain, with a capacity of up to 1500 standard containers, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA".

The launch of the service comes as part of "Mawani’s" efforts to enhance the Kingdom's ranking in global performance indices and improve the operational efficiency at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, which supports the movement of national exports, in line with the targets of the national strategy for transportation and logistics services aimed at establishing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistical hub and a connection point between the three continents.

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is one of the main ports that contribute to connecting the Kingdom with global economies, and it features an integrated infrastructure and advanced logistical facilities attractive to international companies, including 43 fully-serviced berths with a capacity of up to 105 million tons of goods and containers.

Saudi Arabia strives to establish its position as a pivotal logistics center on the global trade map, as part of Vision 2030 which targets enhancing the efficiency of supply chains and the Kingdom’s position as a principal corridor linking Asia, Europe, and Africa.
