Water The Rainy Season is Promising and Dams Reached a Quarter of Their Capacity

Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Omar Salameh, said that the current rainy season is promising, noting that the dams in the kingdom have reached about a quarter of their storage capacity so far.

Salameh added on Sunday that the ministry hopes that the current weather depression, expected on Monday, will bring large amounts of rain that would enhance the water reservoirs of the dams and improve the water situation in various areas.

In a related context, Salameh warned of the possibility of the Wadi Al-Karak dam flooding in the next few hours, as it approaches full capacity, reaching its full storage capacity of two million cubic meters.

He urged citizens, farmers, and residents in areas below the Wadi Al-Karak dam down to the Southern Jordan Valley, to take necessary precautions and adhere to the instructions and guidelines of the relevant authorities, for the sake of public safety.
