The Israeli occupation forces continue their operation on the town of Qabatiya south of Jenin in the northern West Bank, for the second consecutive day, amidst a campaign of field interrogations of dozens of citizens, forced displacement, intensive house raids, converting some homes into military barracks, and the destruction of infrastructure.
The Palestinian news and information agency (WAFA) quoted eyewitnesses as saying that "the occupation forces interrogated a number of citizens during house raids in the town, forcing most of them to forcibly displace," and they noted that "the occupation forces converted homes into military barracks."
They pointed out that "the occupation’s vehicles bulldozed a number of streets, after closing most of the town's secondary entrances with dirt barriers."
A Palestinian killed two Israelis on Friday in a two-stage attack in northern Israel, prompting the Israeli army to launch an operation in the town of Qabatiya, from which the attacker hailed.
Following the attack, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz ordered the army to "act forcefully and immediately" in Qabatiya. He called on the army forces to "locate every terrorist and eliminate them, and to strike at the terrorist infrastructure in the village," according to a statement from his office.
He added that "anyone who assists or supports terrorism will pay a heavy price."
