Khaberni - Walid Regragui, the technical director of the Morocco national team, described the draw with the Mali team (Friday) in the African Nations Cup as a positive thing.
The positive 1-1 draw determined the outcome of Morocco's match in the second round of the group stage of the African Nations Cup, which resulted in postponing the Atlas Lions' qualification to the next round.
The draw halted Morocco's continuous series of victories across all levels at number 19.
Walid Regragui explained to reporters after the end of the match: "We played in the right way and the meeting was very intense, but we needed effectiveness in many matters."
The Moroccan coach believes that facing Mali offers a chance to learn many things: "From such encounters, we learn a lot, and I see more positives than negatives in this meeting."
He continued: "We dominated and pressed, and then a single mistake resulted in a penalty from which the equalizing goal came."
Morocco had started its journey in the African Nations Cup by winning 2-0 against the Comoros, and will conclude its matches against Zambia next Monday.
By the end of the second round, Morocco topped Group A with 4 points, two points ahead of Mali and Zambia, who are in second and third place respectively.
