If Lamine Jamal had been in Italy he would play in second division Klinsmann criticizes Calcio after World Cup setback

Khaberni - The Italian national team's "Azzurri" failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup against Bosnia and Herzegovina was not just a minor stumble, but an official announcement of a deepening identity crisis that once made their school a "Mecca" of world soccer.

In this context, Jürgen Klinsmann, former star and coach of the German national team, provided a scathing critique highlighting the bleeding wounds in the body of "Calcio".

"If Lamine Jamal had been in Italy, he would play in second division"

German Jürgen Klinsmann, aged 61, who formerly played for Inter Milan, in an interview on "Rai" channel, believes there's a lack of technically gifted players due to a lack of confidence in young players in Italy.

He remarked in surprise: "If (Spanish) Lamine Jamal and (German) Musiala were in Italy, they would play in Serie B to gain experience."

Klinsmann also criticized Italian coaches for their continued preference for excessive defensive caution over offensive initiative, affirming that "playing not to lose" is the quickest path to failure in modern football, which relies on high pressure and quick transitions.
