Khaberni - The General Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Ramzi Al-Muayta, confirmed that Jordan's joining of the Global Entry program represents a qualitative step in facilitating the movement of travelers to the United States.
Al-Muayta stated that the mid-month announcement from Jordan and the United States about the Kingdom's participation in the Global Entry program, which accelerates entry procedures for member travelers upon their arrival in the United States, will have significant positive tourism implications for Jordan.
He added that this program reflects the depth of the Jordanian-American strategic partnership, pointing out that this achievement comes as a result of the wise vision and efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in enhancing Jordan's international status and supporting economic and touristic growth.
Al-Muayta, in a press statement, mentioned that this decision will grant the Jordanian traveler to the United States significant advantages, especially as it comes just before the participation of the Jordanian national football team in the World Cup, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico are hosting, with matches in 11 cities including Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, and New York during the 2026 Football World Cup.
Al-Muayta explained that Jordan's inclusion in the US Global Entry program is evidence of Jordan's global reputation as a stable country in the Middle East, which will reflect in boosting the confidence of travelers worldwide in Jordan as a safe and attractive tourism destination.
He clarified that the decision, a fruit of joint efforts by institutions of both countries, confirms that Jordan holds a prestigious global position by adhering to the highest standards of safety, security, and institutional governance, which will support the marketing and promotional efforts of the Jordan Tourism Board in enhancing the Kingdom's competitive features worldwide.
Al-Muayta also noted that the national carrier, Royal Jordanian, will benefit positively from the decision due to an expected increase in the number of Jordanian travelers to the United States, thus leading to an expected increase in the number of flights from Jordan to various US cities.
He further pointed out that the inclusion will positively reflect on boosting cooperation between Jordanian tourism companies and their counterparts in the United States, besides supporting the Jordan Tourism Board’s efforts in opening up new global markets for the Jordanian tourism product, especially since the inclusion conveys a positive message to international markets that Jordan is a reliable tourism partner.
Al-Muayta mentioned that the program is only available to a limited number of Arab countries, placing Jordan in a strategically unique position on the regional and global tourism map.
He added that facilitating entry procedures to the United States not only impacts regular travel but also enhances the accessibility for participants and fans in major global events, particularly the World Cup.
Al-Muayta concluded by saying: "These achievements come under the direct patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his commitment to support the national economy and activate the tourism sector, reflecting a leadership vision towards enhancing Jordan's international standing."
According to observers, the decision is a strong indicator of the depth of the Jordanian-American relations and marks an important new milestone in the strategic partnership and the relationship between the two friendly countries.
The program allows Jordanian citizens who wish to enter the United States to significantly reduce waiting times and expedited screening procedures upon arrival at American airports.
