Campaign to Cleanse the Depths of the Sea in Aqaba Marine Reserve

Khaberni - The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, in cooperation with the Aqaba Governorate, carried out a campaign to cleanse the depths of the sea at Palm Beach in the Aqaba Marine Reserve.

The authority stated on Wednesday that this campaign is part of the national efforts and reflects the vision of the Aqaba Authority aimed at protecting the marine environment, preserving coral reefs and biodiversity, and reducing marine pollution in the Gulf of Aqaba through the integration of efforts between all relevant official bodies and the private sector in Aqaba.

 

It added that preserving the cleanliness of the marine environment is a collective responsibility that requires awareness and active participation, ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for future generations and enhancing Aqaba's status as a national model in marine environmental protection.

 

In his part, the director of the Aqaba Reserve, Nasser Al-Zawaida, explained that the joint efforts of the naval force divers, royal boats, civil defense, royal administration for environmental protection, Aqaba Company for the Management and Operation of Ports, and the Aqaba Diving Association, resulted in extracting 26 sacks of waste from the seabed, with a total weight of 78 kilograms.
