The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate reported that three people from the Al-Dhulail area were hospitalized, where one of them soon passed away following injuries incurred while they were collecting scrap, and the injured are still under treatment.
The spokesperson added that investigations confirmed that the individuals were collecting scrap, among which was an old explosive device. It exploded when they tried to cut it, and specialists took charge of cordoning off the area and investigating the incident.
The spokesperson urged those working in scrap collection to be cautious and vigilant during their work and when suspecting any object, to not tamper with it or transfer it to homes, and to report it immediately to the relevant authorities.
