Delivery of 10 Homes to Modest Families in Northeastern Badia

Khaberni - Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, Dr. Mohamed Al-Khalaileh, handed over the project of homes for modest families funded by the Zakat Fund in the Makifteh region of the Northern Badia.

Al-Khalaileh stated that the project includes 10 housing units with a total cost of 350,000 dinars. This is the second project by the Zakat Fund following the Mu’adh bin Jabal Village project in the Northern Jordan Valley area, implemented in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to care for poor and needy families and provide them with a decent life and suitable housing.

He explained that each housing unit has a space of 85 square meters and is located on a plot of land measuring 400 square meters, where the units were distributed to their beneficiaries according to fair criteria that align with the Zakat Fund's instructions.

Al-Khalaileh also handed out right-of-use certificates to the families benefiting from the project, honored a group of supporters of the Zakat Fund's programs and the housing project for modest families in Makifteh, and expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of Um al-Qittain and Makifteh, and everyone who contributed to the completion of the project that embodies the values of mercy, solidarity, and cooperation we are accustomed to in this blessed nation under the Hashemite leadership.

Am al-Quttain and Makifteh Municipal Committee chairman, Taleb Al-Hammad, noted that the project was established on a piece of land spanning 12 dunams, donated by the municipality to the Zakat Fund, highlighting the spirit of cooperation, responsibility, and the values of mercy and giving.

In turn, Khalf Al-Msa'eed, Director of Awqaf of Northeastern Badia, referred to the efforts of the Ministry of Awqaf in establishing a housing project for modest families via the Zakat Fund, which eases the suffering of modest families in finding suitable shelter for their members, given their inability to build homes for themselves.

The ceremony was attended by the governor of Mafraq, Firas Abu Ghanem, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Development, Barq Al-Dmour, the commissioner of the Northern Badia, Fawaz Al-Kharisha, the General Director of the Zakat Fund, Abd Samirat, the Director of the Hajj and Umrah Department, Majdi Al-Batoush, the Director of the Hajj Fund, Fuad Al-Kouri, the Director General of the Department of Development of Waqf Properties, Yousef Al-Qudah.

Additionally, the Minister of Awqaf inspected the multi-purpose hall project in the Khsha’a and Husayniyah areas of Um al-Qittain district, which was established by the ministry on waqf land soon to be available for local community events. The building includes two floors, a car park, a guard room, external works including fences, sidewalks, courtyards, a collection pit, a water tank, and a machinery room on the roof, built on a plot of 1807 square meters.
