Khaberni - The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced today, Tuesday, that the number of new Arab and foreign students enrolled in Jordanian higher education institutions at the beginning of the current academic year 2025-2026 across all programs and degrees reached (12,973) twelve thousand nine hundred and seventy-three students, increasing the total number of Arab and foreign students studying in various programs and degrees since the start of the current academic year 2025-2026 to (55,410) fifty-five thousand four hundred and ten students who came to study in the Kingdom from (119) one hundred nineteen countries around the world, noting that the total number for the previous year 2024-2025 was (51,647) fifty-one thousand six hundred and forty-seven students, which means that the total number increased this year over the last year by (3,763) three thousand seven hundred and sixty-three students.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed that this increase in the number of incoming international students is a result of Jordan's excellence in several advantages and opportunities that can be built upon and invested in this field such as its distinguished reputation, the quality of higher education outcomes, and the security and safety that Jordan offers in addition to a number of political, social, and economic factors that are attractive to incoming students. In addition, the tremendous efforts made by: the ministry represented by the committee for international student attraction formed by the Higher Education Council, and the International Student Affairs unit in the ministry, and the ministry's strategic partner in this file, the Tourism Promotion Authority represented by the Educational Tourism unit in the recent years. The ministry and the authority have been implementing the operational plan of the strategy to attract international students to study in Jordanian higher education institutions for the years (2023-2027), approved by the esteemed Cabinet, and the ministry will soon publish a new detailed infographic about the statistics of international students for the academic year 2025-2026.
