Khaberni - Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Samirat, stated on Tuesday that the government has completed the launch of the electronic passport, electronic gates at Amman airport, the digital health center, the national vaccine platform, and the development of new systems for reporting births and deaths by connecting with all hospitals and making them available to Jordanians and non-Jordanians, as well as smoking violations and inquiries about cancer insurance.

Samirat indicated during a press conference titled "Government Technology" at the Government Communication Forum, that over 9,000 government employees in more than 100 institutions have been trained on artificial intelligence, and in international indicators, Jordan has achieved the 49th position globally and the fifth in the Arab world in the Government Readiness for Artificial Intelligence Index for the year 2024.

There are 4 comprehensive government centers under construction, offering 207 services, and these centers have served 1 million and 147 thousand citizens.

Samirat explained that efforts are underway to establish a large government data center, which will facilitate procedures, save on energy and management costs, and improve service levels, confirming the continuation of improvement and development.

The minister confirmed that within the Seraj project, the number of users reached more than 180,000 users including students and teachers until the middle of the current month.

He said that the ministry launched the platform "Khayrat Al-Dar" to promote the products of home business owners, noting that the platform was launched in several provinces, and technical enablers were provided to benefit from it, achieving success, with plans to expand it to include the rest of the kingdom's provinces.

Samirat clarified that a review of knowledge platforms or stations has been undertaken through building a new strategy to transform them into "Future Stations" in light of the spread of the Internet, for use in teaching software and artificial intelligence technologies, and the importance of the English language, considering these as future skills needed in the labor market, pointing out that the creation of future stations has begun, with one station in Marka and another in Karak.

He also mentioned that the first technological center, The Platform, was opened in Marka, and "The Platform" branches related to the main center of the "Technological Platform Center" were launched in Aqaba, in the provinces of Karak, Tafila, and Ma'an, as part of the ministry's efforts to enhance digital skills and empower youth in the southern provinces.

He referred to the development and digitization of the school curricula for grades from seventh to eleventh.

In response to journalists' questions, the minister said that work is ongoing on shared government services, indicating the existence of a specialized cloud computing system for them, and that government services are launched through dedicated cloud computing.

Regarding the "Ajal" platform, Samirat explained that the plan is based on expanding it to include students, their parents, and teachers, in addition to integrating "Seraj Taw'a," a smart assistant, within the comprehensive and unified "Ajal" platform.
