Warning about personal care products that could threaten childrens lives in the United States

Khaberni - The American Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned of personal care products available in major stores and online sites after discovering potential health risks affecting children.

Plantaymex, based in Florida, has recalled 50,000 packages of the "Mamisan" pain relief ointment, priced at $10 per package, after discovering that the cream contains "lidocaine," a local anesthetic that can lead to cardiac arrest if swallowed.

The yellow plastic packages with a capacity of 3.52 ounces are not child-resistant, posing a significant danger if they reach children. The ointment is used to relieve muscle pain and is popular among those seeking natural remedies.

The product was sold across the United States between April 2024 and October 2025. The CPSC advised customers to keep the packages away from children and contact the company for child-resistant covers.

Meanwhile, Feel the Beard recalled about 840 packages of beard growth oil with a capacity of 30 ml, after discovering it contained "minoxidil," which may cause a sharp drop in blood pressure and could lead to death if ingested.

The product was not packaged in child-resistant containers, despite U.S. law requiring it for products containing "minoxidil". It was sold on Amazon and across the United States between April and September 2025.

General warnings

Officials from CPSC confirmed that both products pose a severe hazard to children due to the absence of child-resistant containers. No injuries or deaths have been reported yet.

Statistics show that about 60,000 children under five years of age are admitted annually to hospitals in the United States due to poisoning, including exposure to over-the-counter medications, with approximately 49 children dying annually from this age group.
