A Simple and Effective Way to Improve Liver Health

Khaberni - A recent study revealed that eight weeks of regular physical exercise contributes significantly to improving liver health in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
The study involved 754 people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Participants were asked to engage in physical fitness exercises for no less than eight weeks to ascertain the effects of exercise on liver health.

The results showed that long-term exercise lowers levels of liver enzymes ALT and AST, which are often indicators of liver damage. Furthermore, patients experienced a reduction in liver fat content. Additionally, metabolic indicators associated with the disease improved, including reduced body weight, body mass index, visceral fat, and insulin resistance.
Researchers also found that high-intensity exercise programs had a stronger impact on liver health, although other types of exercise also resulted in positive changes. Conversely, exercise did not significantly affect liver stiffness or hemoglobin A1c levels (HbA1c), leading researchers to speculate that a longer duration or more studies might be needed to observe these effects.
