Benefits of Travel on Mental and Physical Health

Khaberni - A study by scientists from "A&M" University in Texas found that travel not only provides the pleasure of exploration but also carries deep health benefits that affect the heart and mental state.
In the study, the scientists conducted experiments on 20 students during a cruise, where participants wore smart watches equipped with apps to monitor health indicators such as heart rate, movement, and physical activity. The students were asked to document their activities and events they participated in throughout the trip, enabling the researchers to link daily behaviors and activities during travel with the cardiovascular system's condition.

The results showed that travel imposes a unique rhythm on the heart similar to athletes' training, through a pattern of alternating stress and relaxation. Initially, new experiences activate heartbeats, followed by rest periods that recharge energy, a process that helps improve cardiovascular health.

The study also concluded that vacations and long trips have more sustainable effects compared to short trips. For example, a week-long vacation helps relieve stress for a longer period compared to a weekend break.
Many health experts suggest that traveling and spending vacations in nature help eliminate stress and anxiety, which negatively affect the heart and nervous system health. Therefore, travel is an effective means to maintain mental and physical health.
