The government spokesperson and the Minister of Government Communication confirmed that the information and claims circulated in the past few hours regarding the lands of the Umr City project are baseless rumors, directly affecting a national economic strategic project aimed at supporting growth, attracting investment, and providing job opportunities.
The minister emphasized that the government will not tolerate any party or individual who promotes false or misleading information that affects the state projects or institutions or the citizens' money, confirming that anyone proven to be involved in spreading or promoting these rumors will be held accountable and legally pursued, without exceptions or leniency.
He clarified that the lands designated for the Umr City project have a clear and specified legal status, duly registered in the records of the Land and Survey Department, and that all procedures related to their ownership, transfer, and valuation were conducted within the legal frameworks adopted, with full transparency, and there is no conflict or ambiguity in their legal status.
The government spokesperson confirmed that the Umr City project is one of the major economic projects linked to the economic modernization vision, and that casting doubt on it or undermining confidence in it through incorrect information serves irresponsible behaviors.
The minister concluded by affirming the government's commitment to the principle of transparency and the citizens' right to know, urging reliance on information issued only by official bodies, and not to follow rumors or unreliable sources, emphasizing that the state will continue implementing its national projects with confidence and responsibility, serving the interest of Jordan and Jordanians.
