The National Guidance and Parliamentary Media Committee approved today, Monday, chaired by MP Dr. Hussein Al-Amoush, an amended law project for the Law of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Sanctities for the year 2025.
Dr. Al-Amoush, in the presence of the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Sanctities Dr. Mohammad Al-Khlaileh, and the Minister of State for Legal Affairs Dr. Fayad Al-Qudah, said that the approval of the law project is part of the legislative and oversight role of the committee, aiming to develop the legal framework regulating the affairs of the endowments, enhance their protection and improve their management, to keep pace with developments and serve the public interest, and preserve the religious and social role of the Ministry of Endowments.
Dr. Al-Khlaileh explained that the law project aims to reorganize the Council of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Sanctities, to achieve good investment of movable and immovable endowment funds, and purchase properties in a manner that ensures the interest of the endowment according to the provisions of Islamic Sharia and the conditions of the endowers.
He said that the project includes issuing sukuk instead of bonds, for the purposes of regulating the properties and funds of the Hajj fund and considering it a proper endowment, and it also includes incorporating the Holy Quran program into endowment programs, in addition to removing the Fatwa affairs from the tasks of the Ministry of Endowments, as it has become the jurisdiction of the General Iftaa Department by virtue of the General Iftaa Law.
The meeting was attended by the deputies: Arwa Al-Hajaya, Ahmad Al-Raqab, Firas Al-Qabalan, Mohammad Al-Raoud, Ahmad Al-Hemaisat, Jihad Al-Abweh, and Mohammad Al-Sabayleh.
