Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza8 receives 6000 cases in a week

The director of the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/8, Colonel Doctor Omar Jamiaan, said that the Jordanian hospital in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip has received about 696,000 medical cases since the start of Gaza operation / 1 up to now.

He noted in his speech from Gaza that the hospital had received 5,935 medical cases during the last week, according to the kingdom.

He explained that the hospital only conducts complex and major surgeries, such as deformities, nerve-related injuries, skull fractures, and others.

Jamiaan said: "We have treated more than one-third of the population of the Gaza Strip."

He clarified that handling complex and major cases is due to the exceptional medical capabilities that the staff there possesses.

The medical teams in the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/8 had conducted, on Sunday, a special surgical operation on a 21-year-old patient suffering from spleen enlargement due to anemia (thalassemia).

The commander of the hospital force, in a press statement on Monday, said that "the medical and nursing staff were able to perform the operation with high efficiency, as part of the continuous efforts made by the hospital to provide advanced medical services to the brothers in the Gaza Strip, despite the challenges and difficult conditions", explaining that the operation was carried out by a specialized medical team with the participation of anesthesia and surgical staff.

The general surgery specialist explained that the case required urgent surgical intervention due to the patient's reliance on blood transfusions weekly, which led to iron accumulation in the body and affecting the heart muscle, where the spleen was completely removed after completing the necessary medical procedures, and the operation was a success.
